Anna Lou Newton, 64, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Jesse James and Julia Josephine Chamberlain Smith. She was born on May 10, 1948 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Anna married her best friend, Lyle Allen Newton on March 28, 1997. She enjoyed playing bingo, planting and growing flowers, working crossword puzzles, fishing and bird watching. She also loved to dance, but most of all she loved spending her time with her family and friends. Anna attended the First Christian Church in Perry. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Fairlawn Cemetery, 1123 E. 6th Stillwater, Oklahoma. Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at BrownDugger Funeral Home Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Anna is survived by her husband, Lyle Newton of the home three children, Darrin Spaulding of Ft. Worth, Texas, Shannon Reidel of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Eddie Spaulding of Ft. Worth, Texas two step daughters, Tina Newton of Costa Rica, Lynette Wosmek, Perry, Oklahoma four brothers, Jesse Smith of Mustang, Oklahoma, Tommy Smith of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Ronald Smith of Missouri, Lonny Smith of Ponca City, Oklahoma twelve grandchildren.
