Anita Gayle Roberts Chestnut, 63, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of George Franklin Pooch and Bonnie Marie McIntyre Roberts. She was born on November 18, 1947 at a farm home in Potter Community in Garfield County, Oklahoma. She went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2011 at her home in Perry, Oklahoma after a long struggle with cancer. Anita graduated from Orlando High School in Orlando, Oklahoma in 1966. After graduation, she was employed as the bookkeeper for Shepards Refrigeration until she met the love of her life. She married Wilson LeRoy Chestnut on February 12, 1972 in Orlando, Oklahoma. She was the bookkeeper of the Grace Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma where she was an active member for many years. She was also a member of the Stagecoach Community Theatre where she participated in many plays. She was raised as a member of the Potter Community Church and later in life was consider an honorary member. Anita enjoyed collecting music boxes, singing in the church choir, having tea in the afternoons with her friends, spending time with her grandchildren and girlying around with her nieces and grandnieces. She also enjoyed taking care of her friends and family and the needs of others. She participated in the first gulf war parade by decorating floats and helping others. Memorials may be made to Potter Community Church, Perry High School Drama Club, Grace Baptist Church or Stagecoach Community Theatre in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 North 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Hill Cemetery Pavilion in Perry, Oklahoma. Pastor Jack Gert will officiate. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Anita is survived by her husband, Wilson Chestnut of Perry, Oklahoma one son, John Michael Chestnut of Billings, Oklahoma and his wife, Danell, of Elkhart, Kansas one daughter, Tammy Dawn Chestnut Judd and husband, Dan of Piedmont, Oklahoma four grandchildren, Alan, Audrey and Beth Judd of Piedmont, Oklahoma and Clark Chestnut of Elkart, Kansas two brothers, Clyde Roberts and wife, Mary Sue of Perry, Oklahoma and Vernon Roberts and wife, Joyce, of Orlando, Oklahoma one uncle, Bert Roberts of Alabama one aunt, Bonnie, of Enid, Oklahoma two sisterinlaws, Pat Reynolds of Belton, Texas and Faith Roberts of Stillwater, Oklahoma many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, four grandchildren and two brothers, Doyle and Ben Roberts.
