Alta Bell Johnson, 80, life-time resident of the Douglas, Oklahoma community, was the daughter of Charles Lee and Bessie Viola Greenwell Cline. She was born May 15, 1923 at Covington, Oklahoma and died at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the Medford Care Center at Medford, Oklahoma. On March 6, 1947, she and Harvey Johnson were married in Winfield, Kansas. Her husband preceded her in death on February 8, 1995. Alta Bell was a homemaker. She was a member of the Douglas Christian Union Church and the Coffee Cup and Perry Golden Eagles CB Clubs. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003 at the Douglas Christian Union Church. Rev. Tommy Donaldson will officiate. Interment will be in the Covington Cemetery under direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice Circle of Love in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Survivors are four sons, Royce Johnson and his wife, LaHoma, of Moore, Oklahoma, Kerry Johnson, of Medford, Oklahoma, Roy L. Johnson and his wife, Mildred, of Fairview, Oklahoma, and Stephen Johnson and his wife, Tanya, of Covington, Oklahoma; one brother, Joel Cline, of Covington, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, her parents and one sister, Viola Sattler, preceded her in death.
