Heather Mckenzie

Noble County has lost precious soul. Heather Nicole Cooksey McKenzie has gone to her eternal rest. She was only 37. She was born in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Donnie Lee Cooksey and his wife Florence Jean Arter Cooksey. She attended the First Baptist Church of Cashion where she filled the air with her beautiful voice. She became a young mother a son and daughter and spent her time caring for them. She worked in retail as a manager of a successful restaurant. Heather was one of the lucky ones. She met and married the love of her life, Kevin McKenzie. They were joined in holy matrimony at their home in Billings. The couple were members of NCIB (Noble County Independent Bikers) for several years. She is also a member of the Flower Power Women’s Group. Heather was a pistol; she loved lime green and even had her room painted green as a youth. She loved to laugh and always had a hug to give. She was a talented self-taught makeup artist; her work was truly magical. Heather had a soft spot for Buddha statues and her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents and special dog Bitter. She leaves behind to mourn her loss her husband, Kevin McKenzie of the home, son Riley Burton of Perry, daughter McKenzie Burton of Kingfisher, step son Anthony Bronner of Billings, step daughter Alycia McKenzie of Perry, twin granddaughters RaeLynn and Olivia McKenzie, sister Dana Cooksey-Hicks of McCloud, brother Coy Cooksey and his wife Jennifer of Oklahoma City, and twin brother James Cooksey of Norman, as well as a hots of nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends. Heather will lie in state at Brown Dugger Funeral Home of Perry where friends can stop by to pay their respects on Wednesday August 26th from 10 am until 7 pm and again on Thursday from 10 until 5pm. A public reception will be held at the funeral home the evening before the service (5pm-7pm Aug 27th) with refreshments provided. Family will be present to receive guests at this time. The community is invited to stop in and reminiscence. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday August 28th at Brown Dugger Funeral Home with burial to follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. All Bikers in Noble County and the surrounding area are invited to attend and ride along to the cemetery. She loved bikes and loved the freedom of the road. Meet at 1010 N 7th street, Perry, OK at 11:30 a.m. August 28, 2020, to join the procession to the cemetery. Always beautiful, always smiling, always singing. That’s the way we remember Heather and we always will.
