Gary Marshall, age 67, of Wewoka, Oklahoma was born on October 19, 1950 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Gaylord and Lillian Marshall. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 23, 2017 at Holdenville General Hospital in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Gary graduated from Enid High School and then moved to Perry, Oklahoma where he made many of his memories. Every time he walked into a room he would brighten the mood. He was always a very kind and attentive man who saw the good in everyone. Gary was a huge collector of pens and phonebooks. In every town he visited, he would perpetually stop at the Chamber of Commerce to grab a phonebook or two. He was always interested in the study of geography. Some say he was a walking GPS. Whether it be a flag or a map he was fascinated by the world around us. Gary was a fan of the OU Sooners as well as the Dallas Cowboys. Not only did he love the football team, but the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders played a big part in that as well. Gary, being the witty person that he was, was the master of assigning nicknames. He also loved Halloween, old westerns, “Santy Clause”, and all kinds of random facts. Gary has forever touched the people around him and will be greatly missed as a brother and forever friend.
Services will be held at McGuire Cemetery in Lucien, Oklahoma on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma.
Cherishing his memory are his sister, Susan McCoy and husband Ralph of Oklahoma City, OK; his nieces, Morgan Murray and husband Kevin of Oklahoma City, OK, and Madison McCoy of Oklahoma City, OK, and his great nephew whom he cherished dearly, Graham Marshall Murray of Oklahoma City, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Lillian Marshall. Thoughts and memories can be shared with the family by using the online guest book at www.brown-duggerfuneralhome.com.

Susan, I was so disappointed to hear of Gary's passing. I remember when we young, you could not keep Gary from smiling. It seemed to me he never had a bad day. When Gary would talk to me he always called me Johnny. I considered this a compliment. I'm looking forward to the day I get to see him... the way God intended him to be!

    Susan and family,
Gary and I were the same age, so I remember him best as a little boy growing up in Perry. Our parents were all good friends, and I have fond memories especially of your sweet and pretty mother, Lou. I know you have been a wonderful sister to Gary all these years, and I shall keep you and your family in my thoughts over the next few days. God bless you.

    I will miss Gary forever.
He touched my heart. He was a precious soul that God put on this earth for a very special reason. I truly believe that he completed every thing God sent him here to do; and then God took his angel home.
I feel blessed to have crossed paths with this gentle soul. 💛
