Richard L. Dugger II, CFSP is a native of Elk City, Oklahoma. He is the son of Richard L. Dugger, and the late Patricia Ruth (Binyon) Dugger. He is a 1982 graduate of Elk City High School and 1988 graduate of Central State University. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Oklahoma and Texas; he also is a licensed life insurance agent in Oklahoma and Texas.
Richard serves on the church council of the First United Methodist Church and is a trustee. He currently serves on the board of directors and Vice President of Main Street of Perry. He is a member and Past President of the Perry Chamber of Commerce and Past President of the Perry Noon Lions Club. Richard is also a member and past President of the Garber Lions Club. He also serves as treasure of the Oklahoma Lions Service Foundation.
Richard L. Dugger II, CFSP of Perry, OK, was awarded the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP), by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP). A number of professions grant special recognition to members upon completion of specified academic and professional programs and "CFSP" is funeral service's national individual recognition. The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, since its 1976 founding, has had as its goals: (1) to recognize those practitioners who have voluntarily entered into a program of personal and professional growth, (2) to raise and improve the standards of funeral service and (3) to encourage practitioners to make continuing education a life-long process in their own self-interest, the interest of the families they serve, and the community in which they serve.
He was appointed by Governor Brad Henry on June 9, 2004, to serve on the Oklahoma Funeral Board and recently served his second term as President. His term will expire July 1, 2009. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Exchange Bank and Trust, Perry Memorial Hospital Foundation, and United Fund of Perry. Other activities include being a member of the Billings Rotary Club, Billings Chamber of Commerce, and the Garber Community Improvement Association. He is a member of the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association, currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer. He is also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association serving on the member resources advisory group. He also serves on the University of Central Oklahoma Funeral Service Advisory board and is a life member of the University of Central Oklahoma Alumni Association.
In, February 2002 Richard and Rhonda Dugger purchased the funeral homes in Perry, Garber and Billings. The Perry location was renamed Brown-Dugger Funeral Home with the other two locations being named Dugger Funeral Home.
Rhonda K. Dugger is a native of Perry, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Mary K. Webb, and the late Robert Webb. She is a 1982 graduate of Perry High School, a 1984 graduate of Northern Oklahoma College and a 1986 graduate of Central State University. She married Richard on May 28, 1988 at the First United Methodist Church of Perry. She became involved in the business after the purchase in February of 2002, and presently serves as Vice President of Dugger Funeral Services, Inc. and Dugger Funeral Homes, Inc.
Rhonda is active in the First United Methodist Church, serving on the Communion Committee, is the former chairman of the Youth Council, and a former member of the Church Council. She currently serves on the board of the Perry Chamber of Commerce and involved in the Perry Rotary Club and past board member. She continues her involvement with Ladies Tuesday Afternoon Club, United Methodist Women, past member of the board of directors, the organization committee, and past Vice-President of Main Street of Perry and is a member of the Perry Alumni Association and Perry Golf and Country Club.
